We're looking for Production Assistants to join our growing team at Planthood. It's a hands-on role at the heart of our production operation, with the opportunity to work across different areas of the kitchen, learn how a modern food manufacturing business operates, and develop your skills as the company grows.
Previous food production experience is welcome, but isn't essential, as full training will be provided!

As a Production Assistant, you'll be part of the team that makes it all happen. You'll work across our production operation, helping to portion, pack and prepare our food for customers while keeping everything running safely and efficiently.
This is an entry-level role and a great opportunity to learn about food production and manufacturing. We'll provide training on the job, and for people who show initiative and want to develop, there are opportunities to take on more responsibility as we continue to grow.

Pay: Starting from £12.90 per hour
Hours: Part-time or full-time
Start Date: Immediate start available for successful applicants
Shift Availability
We're hiring across a range of shift patterns, with both day and evening shifts available.
We're particularly interested in applicants who are available to work weekends and/or evening shifts, although other shift patterns are available.
Our production opening hours are:

Monday–Friday: 07:30–22:00

Saturday: 07:00–16:00

Sunday: 09:30–18:00
Your individual shifts will fall within these hours depending on your agreed working pattern.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll work across different areas of our production operation depending on where the team needs support. This is a practical, hands-on role and your responsibilities will include:

Portioning our food into packaging accurately and consistently, using a range of methods depending on the product, from manual portioning to operating our depositing and sealing machines after training.

Picking and preparing products for dispatch with a high level of accuracy.

Working efficiently to production targets and helping the wider team complete each day's production on time.

Keeping your work area clean, organised and food-safe, following our hygiene and food safety procedures.

Supporting different areas of production when needed, giving you the opportunity to broaden your experience, develop new skills and progress within the company.
What We're Looking For
You don't need previous food manufacturing experience to apply. We're much more interested in finding people with the right attitude who are willing to learn.
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Are reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Have good attention to detail and take pride in doing things accurately.
- Enjoy practical, hands-on work and being on your feet.
- Can work efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Are comfortable with the physical nature of a production role, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 20kg when required.
- Work well as part of a team and are happy to help wherever needed.
- Have a positive attitude and are willing to learn new skills.
- Are comfortable working in a busy production environment.
Previous experience in a food production, kitchen, manufacturing or warehouse environment is helpful, but not essential.
An interest in great food and plant-based eating is always a plus!
