About the position

This position will develop sales opportunities with new and existing customers. This position will support Electric Power customers through the following job responsibilities: working through customer account commercial issues, providing technical documentation support, supporting other sales engineers, and assisting with project management as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Seeks out prospective customers and provides proposals for Electric Power Generation equipment.
  • Responds to current customer requests for Electric Power Generation equipment
  • Analyzes engineering specifications to quote equipment that will meet the project requirements
  • Analyzes Electric Power Generation sales opportunities in the territory and systematically targets business opportunities
  • Documents the project and component specifications required by individual customers
  • Documents sales quotations for customers using standard Ziegler formatting
  • Supports other Sales Engineers as well as customers by providing technical information, literature, schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Learns about Cat and competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns
  • Quotes and closes sales transactions within assigned authority parameters, completing all required sales documentation
  • Coordinates the activities of support divisions within Ziegler and Caterpillar to manage product field service and product quality issues
  • Documents quotation, win, loss and data along with other business activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of technical sales experience
  • Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Sociability, Achievement Orientation
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of internal combustion engine installations and drive trains
  • Analytical skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Electric Power, Electrician, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine experience desired
