Beta Reader – Read a Full Novel in 3 Days – $20 Fixed (US, Native English)

Other Jobs To Apply

No other job posts for this day.

We publish fiction in several genres, and we need fast, hungry readers who love novels and finish what they start.

THE JOB (one book now, more books regularly)

- Read a complete fiction manuscript (about 80,000-90,000 words), start to finish.

- Deliver within 72 hours of receiving the file. No extensions.

- Fixed price: $20 per book. Not negotiable. Please don't apply if you would ask for more money or more time later.

HOW TO READ IT

Read it the way you'd read any novel you picked up yourself. Don't edit, don't look for typos. While you read, leave a comment on the exact sentence wherever you get bored or start skimming, feel lost, or stop believing a feeling, a decision or a turn. One word is enough: "bored", "lost", "didn't buy it".

If you would have put the book down, mark the exact spot, then keep reading to the end. We need both: where you would have stopped, and what you think of the rest.

WHAT YOU DELIVER (the job is done when all of this is in, on time)

1. The manuscript with your comments (Google Docs or Word), anchored to the exact sentences.

2. Short answers to 5 questions from a one-page brief we send with the file: did the ending convince you; where you stopped believing; where you were bored; for each mark, how bad it was and why; who this book is for.

3. Both within 72 hours. Your marks and answers must cover the whole book, ending included.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Native American English speakers who read a lot of fiction for pleasure. Honest and specific: "chapter 18, this sentence, I skimmed" is worth more than a paragraph of praise. Reliable: we have new books regularly, in different genres, and readers who deliver on time get the next ones first.

Start your proposal with the word "MARKS", so we know you read this far.
