Job Summary:

Amazon is looking for dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Package Handlers. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing and organization of parcels within our facilities. As a Package Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently sorting, scanning, and organizing packages to ensure timely delivery to customers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Sorting and Organizing Packages: Efficiently sort incoming and outgoing packages, ensuring they are directed to the correct locations within the facility.
  • Scanning and Tracking: Scan barcodes to accurately track package movement through the system.
  • Parcel Handling: Lift, carry, and move parcels of varying sizes and weights, while adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure that work areas are clean, organized, and safe for all team members.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily goals and ensure timely processing of packages.
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading packages from trucks, ensuring proper placement and organization for efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and report any issues, such as damaged packages, inaccurate scanning, or discrepancies in parcel counts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when sorting and scanning packages.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions, including working outdoors if necessary.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required; however, experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail environment is a plus.
  • Training will be provided to ensure that all new hires are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in this role.

Working Hours:

  • Shifts: Full-time and part-time positions are available. Flexible shift options, including day, night, and weekend shifts.
  • Schedule: Must be available to work flexible hours based on the facilitys operational needs.

  • Basic Technology Proficiency: Ability to use handheld scanners and other basic warehouse technology.
  • Physical Endurance: Ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift for extended periods.
